The Rose Stone Inn is part of the historic community of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, and was built in 1908 to accommodate traveling salesmen arriving on the railroad. The building is constructed primarily of quartzite, appropriately referred to as rose stone by Native Americans of the area, which is still mined by locally to this day and featured in the construction of many of the buildings on Main Street.


Our bed and breakfast has hosted guests from 20 different countries from as far away as China and all 50 states. We have been featured in such books as America's Best Bed and BreakfastFodor's 3rd Edition, and Off the Beaten Path by Robin McMacken. It was mentioned in Midwest Living Magazine  and was voted South Dakota's Best Bed and Breakfast by the readers of Eyes on You Magazine​ in 1993.
